Vocabulary #5

  1. venomous - Full of Malice or Spite. 
The man was very venomous to his community.

2. Stolid - calm, dependable, and showing little emotion or animation.

many thought he was very boring but he was really stolid.

3. Hypnotized - capture the whole attention of someone ; fascinate.

The wonderful smell of the food hypnotized me.

4. Suspend - temporarily prevent from continuing or being in force or effect.

I got in a fight so I was suspended from football.

5. Transformed - make a thorough or dramatic change in form, appearance, or character.

The man Transformed into a werewolf when the full moon came out.

6. Accuse - Charge someone of an offense or crime.

The man was accused of murder last week.

7. Anticipate - regard as probable; expect or guess.

Our football team anticipated the other teams run ability.

8. Fringe - an ornamental border of threads left loose or formed into tassels or twists, used to edge clothing or material.

9. Melancholy - a feeling of sadness with no real cause.

Saturday morning everything around me felt so melancholy.

10. Earnestly - showing severe and intense conviction.



11. Dissolve - cause to become or incorporated into a liquid so as to form a solution.

The bubbles dissolved into the water.

12. Aggravate - to make worse or more serious.

I was already mad and they kept aggravating me.

13. Illuminate - light up.

The sky illuminated because of the Lightning.

14. Capillary - any of the fine branching blood vessels that form a network between the arterioles and venules.

The capillary was one of the smallest blood vessels.

15. Proboscis - the nose of a mammal, especially when it is long and mobile, such as the trunk of an elephant or the snout of a tapir.

The elephants Proboscis was very useful and clean.
